Curriculum, Instruction and Special Programs

Curriculum and Instruction Department

The department of curriculum and instruction provides a wide-range of support services to the schools and students of Blanco Independent School District.  The district curriculum is based on the required Texas standards called the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).  The state standards, TEKS, provide the “what” we teach.   One major role of the curriculum and instruction department is work to define the “how” of what we teach.  Our work provides more specificity to the scope the curriculum adding more rigor and details for  teachers to effectively plan and deliver instruction to all students.

Other areas of support include:

Assessment and Accountability

Advanced Academics,

Career and Technical Education

College and Career Readiness

Federal Programs and Grants

Professional Development

Intervention Services

Teaching and Learning
