Hello!  Welcome to our Chemistry Class!  I am very happy that you found your way here!  ¡Hola!  ¡Bienvenidos a la clase de quimica!  ¡Estoy muy contenta que llegan aqui!

So, what is Chemistry?  In chemistry, we will be studying all the “stuff,” or matter, of the universe that is not living.  This includes anything is a solid, liquid or gas, from the tiniest part of an atom to the largest collection of molecules.  From there we will learn about how and why the atoms behave as they do to make chemical reactions and look closely at the particles that make up an atom.  We will also become familiar with the periodic table and examine the different elements.  Throughout the course, we will be conducting experiments using the scientific method to think like a scientist, forming hypotheses and drawing conclusions.  Most of our learning materials will be online, although while we are in class, we will also use paper handouts to reinforce concepts.  When we use a textbook, we will be reading from the AGS Chemistry text, by Pearson Publishing.
