Coronavirus (COVID-19) UPDATE 4/18/2020

Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order that closes all Texas schools for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year, as it "would be unsafe to allow students to gather." As a result of this order, Blanco ISD schools and offices will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Although our buildings remain closed, students will continue to receive instruction and assignments through our remote learning platform, until otherwise noted. The BISD Leadership Team will begin preparations to close out the school year, and will provide guidance soon.

We know this news is difficult for our entire community. Many students wanted to return to school and see their friends and classmates, just as our teachers and administrators were anxious to see students in their classrooms and on campus. When we are able to return to school, we will be one big family together in one place, but for now, we must be together in spirit while remaining apart. Thank you for your support of Blanco ISD during this unprecedented situation.

This is not how our seniors envisioned their last year of high school, and we are especially heartbroken for them. While we have not yet postponed our graduation ceremonies, we are exploring all options so that we can honor our seniors and provide them and their families with a graduation experience. According to Governor Abbott, we will be receiving more information from the Commissioner of Education Mike Morath about conducting graduation ceremonies. As we finalize our graduation activities, we will communicate with 2020 seniors and their parents.
